I don't see any recent posts. Has this site gone the way of intruderalert.com ?

Almost. There seems to be a few active members, but very few. I check in every now and then just to see what kind of problems people are having. This site was helpful to me early in the year as I was trying to get my 2005 S83 fixed up. What bike do you have?

The site is alive and well.
However, wintertime has a lot fewer posts on the tech boards. This was pretty common on the old board too.
Got a question? Comment? Post it.

I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

We got nothing against anyone from the southern hemisphere. I even spent 3 days in Christchurch and a month up and down the east coast of Australia a few years ago.Pvt_Nemesis wrote:Just kicking off the summer downunder - but not many kiwi's n aussies on here it seems.

Cranebike here,
I was Crane but somebody stole my handle.
I have (2) 2002 Intruder 1400's .
Intruder alert helped me out a bunch years ago when I was always changing and upgrading things on my bikes.
I'm pretty happy with both bikes now.
The thing that has happened to both bikes in the mid 40k miles is the driveshafts went to shit. Apparently the factory does not put any grease whatsoever, they are installed dry. They end up rusted out until they do not shift anymore. I'm surprised to never see any mention of this on this or intruder-alert.

Happened to me on a couple of 800's
replace the shafts and cups and load the splines with MOLY 80 Lube.
Make sure you use lube that is 80% or better Molybdenum.
Regular high temp grease will boil off.

Re: is this site still alive?
I was hardcore here for about a year. Now that I sold my S83 and switched to a 99 Valkyrie, I don’t visit as often. I still pop in to see what’s going on though.
