Re: Headlight Adaptor
If you had posted this a month or two ago I would have snatched it up quick, but..... I just made the same thing. I used a 1/2" thick piece of aluminum and polished it after it was finished. Out of curiosity how thick is the one you have and how far out does it put the new light mount? Mine pushes the light out about 2" from where the stock headlight was which puts the new headlight about an 1&1/2" in front of the tree. Nice lookin piece, is that something you found local or eBay or somewhere else?

Re: Headlight Adaptor
I received the pics, thanks. I really like the one on your bike. Did it come with the arms that the little lights are attached to or are they something you made? They are pretty trick and a great idea for mounting signals or little spots. My signals are good where I have them so I'd probably use a small white LED spotlight there myself.

Re: Headlight Adaptor
My headlight is A Headwinds knockoff but bigger.
The bucket is 9 inches.
I got it on eBay for $125.00.
The turn lites are silver Bullitt knockoffs.
I got them at jcwhitney.com
The mounts/arms are from headwinds for about $100.00
They come with chrome spacers that move the lites out about an inch or so.
I didnt use them because i like the look with it ALL tucked in.

Re: Headlight Adaptor
Thanks for the info. I'm currently sourcing a 7" headlight from a heritage softail to see how it looks on my VS800. I'd be interested in seeing what your bike looks like with an even larger headlight.

Re: Headlight Adaptor
Your saying the bucket is 9" deep? I thought you meant it was 9" in diameter. I'm looking to go with a larger diameter headlight. The OEM is a 5.75"-standard small size headlight. It looks bigger because of the wide lip on the bucket so going with a 7" headlight from a Heritage softail or a Fatboy won't make much of a difference in the overall diameter but it should be just a bit bigger and then I can get a frenched ring to finish it off.PrinceMo wrote:Dont think i would like a bigger light.

Then I plan to put a Cyclops 7000 lumen LED bulb in. The Cyclops draws about 1/3 the power of the bulb your using and is probably at least twice if not 3x brighter. Plus it's a nice white light. I use them in my C90's and its impressive to say the least-plus the heat is nominal compared to a Halogen.

Re: Headlight Adaptor
Be careful with that high wattage of bulb....It can cause harness connector overheating.PrinceMo wrote:Dont think i would like a bigger light.
