New member from Kentucky...
Hello all, first time bike owner here.
Been sitting on the fence for several years now, but finally made the decision to buy one, 2000 Intruder VS1400. Have several friends and family members that ride, so I decided to join the party, and bought this a couple weeks ago from a buddy of mine. Looking forward spending more time on the bike and hanging around here expanding my knowledge.

Welcome Lots of us had 1400s and a few still do. I am close to middle of Kentucky near the oldest town Harrodsburg. Enjoy your 1400 and if down this way to go to ShakerTown or old Fort Harrod may be we cam meet.

Thanks for the welcome old time rider! It's been years since I've been to Harrodsburg, but I'll have to make it a point to get back down that way sometime.

Welcome! Love that color combo. I'm a KY transplant myself from a couple hours east. One of these day's I'll convince the old lady to move to KY, and hopefully she takes me with her lol.

Re: New member from Kentucky...
Thanks gents.
Having some issues with the bike. Took it out on my first real ride last weekend, and had to have it brought home on a roll back. Hoping to try again this weekend. Was super fun up to a point.

Re: New member from Kentucky...
Bike stalled twice and died, once making a slow turn and another time coming to a full stop. It wouldn't start after the second stall.
Also, if it's sitting in neutral idling and I give it a couple quick revs, it dies when the rpms fall.
I pulled the battery yesterday and had it tested, and it tested fine.

It sounds like your idle is set too low, it should be around 1000 RPM.
The thumbwheel on the rear carb, right side of bike will adjust it.
