Pan fried crickets
Pan frying crickets is a common method of cooking. Heat equal parts vegetable oil and butter in a pan. Toss crickets with your preferred spices (I like garlic-salt and chili powder) . Place your crickets in the hot liquid and fry them until they are brown and crispy. Drain the crickets, season to taste, and enjoy.

Do you need to pull the legs off first so they don't jump out of the pan, like with frogs?
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

Re: Pan fried crickets
I used to work in a seafood restruant in NC. The cook was going to boil a bunch of soft shelled crabs. She put a big stock pot on the stove, dumped a bunch of crabs in it and started the burner. She forgot to put the lid on the pot. came back a half an hour later and there were crabs all over the stove.
We ended up having to take the whole damn stove apart because those damn crabs went all through it and kept stinking up the place. I spent a whole saturday tearing the stove apart to get them all out.

Could have been worse, could have been crickets.

Uh, no. Dead crickets don't stink like week old dead crabs... Not a good smell at a seafood restruant.
