Hello (:
I've owned 2 intruders since I've been riding(2years) and I've had a good bit of fun on them. My first was a 2001 vs 800 and my current is a 2005 boulevard s83. I went to MMI and currently work at a Honda dealer so I can help answer questions if needed. Currently, my 05 is being built into a club style/sons of anarchy type of bike. Any inspiration is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the board.
If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

welcome
I'm interested in why your 800 blew up.
I own several of them, a couple over 100,000 miles.
Did you perhaps run low on oil?

Nope. When i bought it i didnt know anything and didnt care. it didnt run great when i bought it and looking back the carbs were messed up. As a young idiot, i threw straight pipes on it and ran it. I presume it blew up due to a lean running condition. it had just over 8000 miles on it when it died.
