Ergonomcs 800 and 1400
Someone here probably owns both 800 and 1400 bikes.i am cramped on my 800.mostly because of the high rearward pegs.someone posted forwards for a 1400 from amazon for $189. Will those work on the 800. I know the14 has more hp and torque. Is there a lot of difference? I expect the 1400 is heavier.i wondered if both bikes have the same trans and crank. Is it possible to do like harley and change the jugs. Actually for my limited riding the 800 has enough power.just curious.i feel like the passenger seat has me scooted way forward.

Many questions. How about if I answer them one-by-one for claritycruiserlover wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:44 amSomeone here probably owns both 800 and 1400 bikes.i am cramped on my 800.mostly because of the high rearward pegs. Not that I know of.Someone posted forwards for a 1400 from amazon for $189. Will those work on the 800.

In a way, it depends. In the Quarter mile, they are both about the same. However, in the Seat-of-the-pants feel, many like the 1400's loads of torque at lower RPM and opposed to having to rev so high to get similar power from the 800 .I know the14 has more hp and torque. Is there a lot of difference?

They are totally different motors, so No would be my answer.I wondered if both bikes have the same trans and crank. Is it possible to do like harley and change the jugs.

I had a similar feeling about the "cockpit" of both the 800 and 1400...more so in the 800i feel like the passenger seat has me scooted way forward.
After studying the relationship of Seat/Bars/Footpegs, I found I had no real issues with the Seat/Bars/Grips placement and changed them slightly with my New Bars. Grips.
It was the Seat/Footpegs that needed the changes...and my Seat Mods & Forwards did The Trick. Now I have a VERY comfortable, slightly-leaned-back Seating Posture lower-to-the-ground with all Controls set for quick and easy actuation .

The 800 is faster off the line, the 1400 will take over a ways down the road.
The 1400 is heavier.cruiserlover wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:44 amI expect the 1400 is heavier.i wondered if both bikes have the same trans and crank. They DO NOT share the tranny or crank.
You can not swap jugs.
You can change the seat on your 800 to a Corbin gunfighter.
The 800 and 1400, although they look alike, share very few parts.
Some are 1" handlebars, front wheel, bulbs and oil.

Yes, the Forks are Extended and the Triple Trees are Raked also. This is Fork from ThunderBike, Germany made to my specification. It is only one in the world that is Chrome Plated, btw.cruiserlover wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 4:15 amThanks for responses. That is a 1400 u pictured i think. forward controls are available for it. The Seat I made by using the Stock Seat Pan for ease of mounting. I retained the outer edge of it so I could staple in a New Cover....I cut out the middle section to lower the final sitting position ( which required relocating the Ignition Module )..... installed a flat Sheet Metal "pan' over the middle hole. Then re-shaped the Stock Seat Foam lower and cut-to-fit some nice Black heavy-duty Vinyl.
They are My Design , made-from-scratch using a Rectangular Straight Pipe (instead of the usual round) with a Round-to-rectangle Transitioning Fabrication from the round Header Outlet...inside which is a Thunder Monster Baffle. I liked the Silver Ceramic Coating Color,...but wanted a Chrome Exhaust Tip.Unusual mufflers.what are those ?

Re: Ergonomcs 800 and 1400
Thank you for your kind words.
Some of the things I am most proud of are what you don't see.
Like,...my Hidden-in-plain-sight Oil Cooler, the Kick Stand that tucks under the Frame ( I didn't like that "boat oar" outside my left Pipe) and the fitment of 1500 Primary Engine Gearing onto the 1400 Clutch Basket for 'taller" gearing.

Re: Ergonomcs 800 and 1400
Those are Custom-made-to-my-Specification shocks from Works Shocks.
I calculated a special Progressive Spring Rate using a stack of two springs of different quite different Rates. (you can see the short, Stiff spring over the longer Softer in the picture)
And their "Piggy Back" Side Chamber design allows for fine tuning not only the Compression Dampening Rate, but also the Rebound Dampening Rate.
Makes for one reeeealy nice Ride. And considering you are sitting right over the Shocks, that comes in mighty handy.

Re: Ergonomcs 800 and 1400
Those are from R C Components. They are the 5 spoke version of their "Imposter" wheel, which is now a 3 spoke. They still can make the 5 spoke version from what I was told.
Because I am running a very low profile Front Tire from Metzeler ( 130/60 x 18), I specified a 4-1/2" width ( which they consider is a Rear Wheel Width) so as to widen the Front Tires mounted shape/profile. Makes for a really nice appearance when set alongside the low-profile Rear Tire ( Metzeler 200/50 x 18 )
