Gas station TV
Anybody besides me think this is a bad idea?
Tinny speaker spewing coffee reward points and other blah blah while you are standing there pumping gas.
The pumps with 8 buttons....2nd down on the right usually mutes it.
The pumps with 4 buttons, I haven't mastered yet, however, random combinations got me into the service menu.
Said my transaction was cancelled and the pump was inoperable, use another pump....the whole time it continued to pump gas.
Waiting to see if that 'cancelled transaction' shows up on my credit card.

That was "a thing" here for a while, then went away. When I'd pull into a station and realize they had those, I'd get back in and move along to the next place. I bet a lot of people did. Very annoying.

Unfortunately, it's a big 'thing' up this way, everybody has them.
I have gotten to the point where I carry a bag of cotton balls and a roll of duct tape with me.
Strategic placement mutes the tinny sound pretty good.
I am starting a nation wide cotton ball campaign, feel free to join in.

Someone should find a way to hack it and make porno appear at random intervals. Then I bet they'd get rid of it.
Or sell lots more gas. Not sure which.

Everybody on the east coast. ..........must be playing subliminal messages with such a concentration of deep thinkers up there. Probably have them in Kalifornia as well. Could explain a great deal.navigator wrote:I just ran FL to NY.

Re: Gas station TV
Stations get new pumps that got them things in them and they are all gaga...then they get the high speed internet bill, and they shut it off! I've never seen them things last more than a couple months in any one station. The one's that do a weather report are arguably tolerable...but most of them just spew commercials.
