You suffer from the unrealistic concept that any solution will be a "zero sum" fix.hillsy wrote:Tim, surely you can't tell me you never seen kids attacking teachers? It happens everywhere to varying degrees of severity.Tbeck wrote:hillsy, what kind of kid's and zoo do you think school's have? Wrestle a teacher to take their carry? There are some ignorant students, but that's way out there. Maybe kids in your neck of the world are that disrespectful, not in any school I have been in here.
Really, all you have to do is google it and there's a gazillion examples right there. My neighbour spent 10 years teaching at a government school and can tell you stories that would make your jaw drop. And he's an ex cop. Putting guns in the classroom is just a time bomb.
ANY steps taken will NEVER result in ZERO deaths. Your Utopian and Overly-Idealistic "notions" are just too "Black-And-White" when held up to THE REAL WORLD.
What Tim says about Arming Teachers IS A REALISTIC Step in the Right direction....likely to save FAR MORE LIVES than the "time bomb" you suggest it is and would would threaten.
