05' yamaha royalstar venture 1300cc.

Post by Kingkoa1 »

Ok so I recently posted about my latest garage find... it was a 98' sizzling intruder vs800gl that I took and restored to prime condition. I got an offer for a trade and wanna know what you think?
The guy has a 2005 yamaha royalstar venture 1300cc . He said she only got 22k miles on it give or take, and the Pictures look super good. There's clutch issues and he said it fires right up but last month he tried to go for a ride, but the clutch was slipping and it wouldn't go. I noticed it has a hydraulic clutch, and was wondering if it could be a simple as a fluid drain And a slave & master cylinder cleaning? Anyone owns one and have you had any clutch issues? Would you trade? I know the bike is way more powerful and worth allot more then my bike out the door.... on the other hand I know my current bike inside and out and that it runs very good, because I've crossed all the checklists and more. Kermit know what ya 🤔 think.

I haven't had any experience with the 1300 venture so I googled it. I found a number of sites that mention weak clutch springs (kind of the same issue as the 1400 intruder problems).

Here is a site that talks about it.

I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

That engine is derived from the VMax so it's pretty strong. Not sure if 05 was FI but that would be a bonus as the 4 carb V4 layout is a nightmare.

Yeah - keep the VS and just get this one as well.

You need the IMG things in there to show the pic.

Couple of things - tail light / indicators look weird - has that been shunted up the rear?

Pillion seat has been recovered (not very well).

No gauges?? Aftermarket headlight???

It would want to be cheap.
