This bike is new to me,I own a 82 Yamaha xj750 maxim that I put together out of the box and runs great.I need a#2 cylinder intake manifold as it's is cracked.I see that there is a w,x,and y model,but can't find anywhere that tells me the difference or how to tell what my bike is,so here I am asking the community for help,please.thankyou

The intake manifolds will probably be the same over the various years - Suzuki were pretty good at NOT changing stuff between years on the same models.

The 10th digit of your VIN# signifies the year.
W=98
X=99
Y=2000
They probably use the same part #.
Keep in mind that cylinder #2 is the front cylinder.

The vin has alot of useful information

This is for a Kawasaki 1100 I found for a member
But there seems to be a problem with the year location and the number of characters should be 17
