Look here to work out your year codes:
https://www.cyclepedia.com/yamaha-motor ... ification/
The intake manifolds will probably be the same over the various years - Suzuki were pretty good at NOT changing stuff between years on the same models.

If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

Re: 99 vs 800 gl
The 10th digit of your VIN# signifies the year.
W=98
X=99
Y=2000
They probably use the same part #.
Keep in mind that cylinder #2 is the front cylinder.

This is for a Kawasaki 1100 I found for a member
But there seems to be a problem with the year location and the number of characters should be 17
JKA=Country of origin
Japan
KZ=Model line and engine type
4=Stroke Street
B=Engine Displacement
1100 cc
L=Variation Code
Trim Package
1= Horse power
No Data supplied
1=Check Digit
Used to Check Vin Number
D=Model Year
1984
A= Assembly Plant
Akashi Japan
001571 = Sequential Production Number
