Depends on how much you lower it. And whether you lower the front and rear.

Heat and rebend or cut and weld.
Current rides: 03 HD FLHT & 01 Yamaha XVS650(BIP)
Former: 87 Suzuki VS700, 94 BMW K1100LT & 91 Honda CB250

I don't want to own them all, just ride them all.

^^This^^ Sometimes, depending on the bike, you can buy a shorter kickstand. Also, when bending, the kickstand will not hit the stop when in the up position on some bikes.

I wasn't sure what to do with mine when I lowered it, as it sat so close to level it was only a matter of time before it tipped over. I ended up marking where it hits the "stop" when down, then shaved a bit off at a time with a grinder. Now it swings a hair further but nothing noticeable is changed.

Would have went with bending but I wasn't sure if I could keep the chrome pretty after some heat, so I looked for another way.

Find a used one , cut and weld, then if you mess up you still have one for the bike while you engineer and fabricate.
