Best way to chop a rear fender

Post by YorkshireTruder »

I remember reading a great write up on the the IntruderAlert about chopping the rear fender and what was required, does anybody remember this or able to provide me with some information, i effectively want to turn mine into a single seater, maybe with a kinda bobber look. also mine has the black box behind the sissy bar (i think something to do with california emissions law) which i will need to remove. anybody able to help?

The igniter is also under the passenger seat. The emissions stuff can be removed, but since your tank isn't vented, you'll need to make sure not to block the portion that of the system that goes into the tank. Chopping the fender is the easy part, after you relocate everything you need to and find or fab the seat you want. Once you do, mask up the fender, mark where you want to cut it, and use a cutoff wheel to do the job.

I don't want to own them all, just ride them all.
