Help identify engine.

Post by Vicsintruder »

I bought what I thought was a vs750 engine. I put it into the frame and all seemed OK until I tried to hook up the wiring harness. This engine has two pickups on the stator that run to the cdi. Any ideas?

If it helps you can get the manual here.

If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

VS750 is supposed to have 2 pick-ups. VS800 only has one.

Thanks guys, I am not near the bike for a week or so but I found a wiring diagram the and yes the VS750 engine has 2 pickups. The bike had a 800 in it when I got it, the case had a window in it with a con rod sticking out. Now to find a cdi for under 250 bucks.
