Is there VS800 wiring diagram the same as the VS700?

Hello everyone, new here, was given a basket case V700 and need to tackle the wiring. I do really like the re-made colorized diagrams. I see there is one in the dropbox linked in the pinned thread, but it's for the VS800.

Am I good to use this one? Are these 700/750/800 models the same besides the motor size?

Thanks!

For basic wiring, yes.
IIRC the ignitor and pickups are different between bikes.
Look at the scematics for your year in the back of the service manual here:

IS this a Canadian bike?

I don't know about the 700-800 bikes but the 1400's had different wiring, for some years, for the European models.

I would imagine that the vast majority of the wiring would be the same just keep verifying what system it is and if you have an issue We can try to figure it out.

Great, thank you. I will keep that in mind regarding the difference and compare the colored one with the factory drawing.

Yep! Canadian bike. I appreciate the offer I will check back in soon with any issues. A decent bit of the wiring is still connected, but there are definitely some stray wires all around that need to find their mate.

One thing about suzuki wiring is that the color codes are well defined in the wiring diagram. Figure out the color of the wire and look for it on the diagram. with the non-colorized diagrams it is a little harder but you can still figure it out, with a little work.

For sure. The un-colored labelled diagram is fine no doubt. Overall it's just a bit easier on the brain and nice to use the color ones for quick reference back and forth. I do like how well labelled the factory diagrams are though, no guessing.

Don't get me wrong, the color versions are the best but the factory are very usable.
