Still have way too many bikes but my 011 650 Vstrom bought new in 012 in middle of pic way way up north is loaded with far more than the big ol Harley was [emoji2] . When you get old you need more stuff when you travel.A thicker bed roll and even a pad under it!Bigger tent for the more stuff. [emoji2] More layers of stuff to try to keep warm in the Alaska cold. It was 28 and snow when we rolled in to Dead Horse the first week of June!

ImageHad owned two Harleys before it 54 and 66 and this was a good bike.Put 33,000 trouble free miles on it and sold for $1,100 more than I gave for it when three years old.Took a 883 Sportster on all most the same trip in 1995 with 0 troubles. My six harleys were not the best bikes I ever owned but well in the middle.Best and worse were both new suzuki fours.New 1977 GS750 by far the best [emoji106] and 1978 new GS1000 by far the worse !!Five clutch baskets and one set of motor cases in two years!Like pouring money down a hole :bonk: . Only good thing it was the best high speed handler of over 30 bikes owned. You could hit a hole or crack in the road at 125 and it would stay rock stable. Now when I blew one of the clutch baskets at red line and a big chunk blew a hole in back ,right in front of the rear tire things got a lot    .Thank god it stayed up right after going through four qts of hot oil! Abuse was done to about any bike owned and a lot to the fours at drag strips. You play you sometimes pay in a big way. BULLET PROOF is a word most that ran drag strips for very long do not use.
