My last three recent rides..........

2002 Suzuki 1400
Starting with "The Beast" my trusted 2002 1400... that I bought brand new in 2003..she had been sitting on the show room floor for over a year and the dealer wanted to get rid if her, it was the only hold over that he had from the year before...Price tag was 8350.00 plus TT&L..
After a few visits and some horse trading he came down to 7500.00 plus TT&L...I told him we would have a deal if he paid the title and license fees....and the deal was made with a handshake. It had 0 miles on her and I kept it for two years and ended up selling it to Cross Country in 2005, it had 12K miles on the odo....

2002 Harley Deuce...
I bought this jewel from my brother in law in 2004.....He went down on it on a ride north of Houston, Texas...we were riding with OPusX, N2Rock and Savage Shannon, Blackbeard and Mustang Sally..he went down hard but luckily for him no broken bones but he was cut up a bit and it took several skin grafts to get his arm back to what it was before the accident. The bike was originally Black but when they were putting the bike back together again the Harley dealer didn't have any gloss black in stock so he offered to paint the bike with some paint he had that a customer had bought and paid for but never used. and those colors were Purple and Chrome yellow... it had 5,400 miles on the odo when I bought it and kept it till November of 2009 when I traded it in with 58,000 miles on her for my current ride.

My Beloved Deuce

This is what it looked like when I got it

And this is what she looked like when I traded her in..

2008 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic

Until this bike I had never owned a Touring bike, always rode the cruisers but as I got older ( and more wise) I wanted something for the open road that I could ride all day and not be all tuckered out...I had rode a few of my buddies Street Glide and a Goldie and I knew right then that's the kind of bike I needed for those long days in the saddle. Found it on the internet in Houma, La... about three hours away from home and with just a photo of the Deuce the dealer there made me an offer I just couldn't refuse..
And the deal was made over the phone under the conditions that both bikes were what they looked like and
we would both be satisfied.....after a test ride on the Classic I was sold.. [emoji106]
It still had 9 months left on the warranty and the odo read 6,142 miles...it now has 45,000 miles on the odo and still going strong

I nick named her .."The Black Pearl" although she is Blue and Black the name stuck with me.

What has pissed me off Yo, is that I started a similar thread and was informed it was moved to the correct section where it belonged, OK, I had no problem with that. Now a Mod starts this thread and it does not get moved where it belongs.

I also apologise for my most insulting name calling.

Lechy, this was a thread from long ago. It's and old one to be sure, much created before some things got into full swing. Please accept my apologies, if I had know it may have trampled on your feet, I would have corrected it before posting.

Hey, I'm still up for a video!

Thanks Keith.

It's the 675cc engine. It will blow the nuts off the Intruder but all those rpm's can get annoying.
The Intruder is just so sweet to potter around on. Chuck it in top gear and let every stroke kick you up the arse.
I must be converted because the triple is collecting dust in the lock up and the V-twin is getting all the attention.

I wouldn't mind an Explorer though so watch this space.

When I went for my test ride on the Explorer, the dealer sent out a chaperone on a purple Street Triple. Of course, I was new to the Explorer, but I had a difficult time keeping up with that little bike! Even though it was purple, it still was sharp!

Enjoy the Intruder! Having two bikes makes living with the shortcomings of the Intruder easier to live with. I loved mine, it just wasn't a touring bike.
I hear ya there! Really want something for touring, 200+ miles on either of my bikes isn't gonna fun and with such poor summer weather in the UK the only way to get decent riding is to hit the continent.

omg I just realised how much I want a touring bike..... something gotta go to fund it though :Umm:
