My bike and trailer

Post by BlacktopTravelr »

Notice the tag on the small HF trailer,
it wasn't needed but I bought it anyway just in case I was
stopped when out of state. $7 a year.

Yep your hitch needs adjusted and longer drop tongue on the teardrop. Then it should handle better

Yep, I take all I need and then some. :lolfall: You never know when you'll run into a bear. :lmao:

The hitch is fine, it is level with the rear axle. Yes it needs a longer tongue. I think 2 or 3 ft should be fine. [emoji106]

I got the hitch online at Denray. It wasn't cheap, but it is built to last. [emoji106]

Hey John, you have any pictures of the interior of your trailer? Maybe some build pictures. Wife said it looks too small for you to stretch out in but I assured her it was longer than it looks. Regardless it looks awesome from the outside. [emoji106]

No build pics since I didn't build it. The inside is over 6 ft long and 3 ft 8in wide. I don't remember the measurements from the inside but I have a twin size mattress in it right now. That mattress does cover the vents at both ends so any condensation inside stays inside. :bang: Before I put the mattress in I could sit up inside at the highest spot without hitting my head. The walls have formed a little mold due to the moisture and I need to get some spray mold killer from KMart. :OhNo;

Maybe cut holes in the mattress by the vents?

nay no use to mess up your mattress...just put some spacers between the matt and the vents..

You know that might work. I could put a couple of pieces of pvc plastic pipe at both ends of the mattress and they might provide a way for the condensation to exit the trailer.One or both ends would provide fresh air into the trailer while the overhead vent would be the exit. I could maybe even put in a small fan to help with the air exiting the trailer. I still need to go to KMart and buy some of that mold killer spray to spray the walls and maybe redecorate the inside with kilz paint or something. This teardrop could end up being pulled with the van in colder weather when it wouldn't be possible to pull the small trailer with the bike. I could have both trailers to choose from to sleep in and the van to store all my stuff.

My reply shows the link to the wet and forget mold killer that I plan on using to kill the mold in the teardrop trailer. :blink:

How it looks today with the Mustang seat. Taken about 3 weeks after it was stolen.

I'm a bit confused about the seat. I thought mustang was better than stock. So why was the stock on the bike and not the mustang?

I thought the Mustang was better too. So I rode to the other side of Ar. almost to Memphis to get that one at a cost of $250. It was ok on the ride home but the more I used it the more I liked the stock seat. So I put the stock seat back on and would swap them out every now and then hoping I would like it better but I never did.
