Darkside

Post by Herb »

I was out with the bike today and stopped for gas. There was a guy (I think it was a he, not so sure anymore) there that said he has a 1400 at home and was asking about my rear tire. We had quite a discussion about running the car tire on the back. He had never ridden a bike with a car tire on it but he is not adverse to the idea.

Just out of curiosity is there anyone else out there still running car tires on bikes???
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

I had a CT on my 1500 - but took it off when I sold it.

The 1500 was a pretty good bike to DS - heavy bike, small lean angle, fairly wide mag rim. Not sure about the 1400 in those respects.

I probably would have kept the CT if I kept the bike. I also ran a 150 rear MC tyre on the front - they call that "double darkside".

I am on my 4th DS tire on the back of my 99, I average 40,000 miles on each one and the last one was weather checking and not even down to the wear bars when I changed it.
