Made a Shadow Box for my Canada Trip

Post by n-trude »

I just started working on a shadow box. For my bucket list trip to Nova Scotia.

I put in a map showing my route with pins. A silver bucket from Hobby Lobby, and a Walmart shopping list blank.

A moose (plastic) and some pictures of my trip. Kind of wanted to make it for the wall. I will take a picture when I get it completed.

I picked up a newspaper while I was up there, and I never looked at it.
So tonight I read the paper. In Northern New Brunswick, Canada, they had
a bad bike, RV wreck. 9 bikes, 8 bikers, men and women, hurt, 1 dead.

Hells Angels, Red Devils, and Darksiders, were passing the RV when the
RV turned into a campground.
On highway 144. 50 people were around as
the bikers waited for medical help. One worker, at the campground, said it looked
like the highway exploded. He said people, in the grass everywhere, boots, credit
cards, money, all over the highway.

Here is the Box I made added some Canada money. Some pictures, some maps.

I just wanted to make a history, of a BUCKET LIST TRIP I talked about for a long time. I am glad I made it. 4945 miles total was great.

This picture starts trip on left in Bangor Me. and at the top right corner, is the Cabot Trail, as far east as you can ride.

Lower pins show the return route, along Nova Scotia, then Ferry Ride over to St. John, New Brunswick. 2 1/2 hrs.

This shows the start from KC, thru Mi. into Ontario, across to NY. lower pins show return, thru Indy, St. Louis, Home

This is a Photo of the Cabin on the cliff. Just look in the center of the picture.

This is a cabin near the Cabot Train I found for rent about $600 a week. I think its cool.

That's quite a trip! Shadow box is a good way to remember it and as a conversation piece. [emoji106]

Got any more bucket list items coming up?

I always liked the Book "Blue Highways" William Least Heat Moon, wrote, about taking a van, camping the back roads
on a loop of the USA.

I want to maybe retrace the route with some of my own changes, and ride my Trike, and use my Mini Mate Camper.

I will be 69 in Dec. I would like to do it soon. This Year would be great. Not sure, I can work it out but its my next Bucket List Trip.

I just never got the Alaska, bug. I have talked to several who have made this trip. I joked do Alaska, Bikers, plan Florida Trips??
Might go with Elsie to Az. for a winter trip. If he goes. I still want to ride, I feel good, have funds, and time, to go on any trip.
My hold back, is Guilt, in leaving my wife alone, to keep watch after, my grandson, Sam, 17 a senior, with me a 1000 miles a way.

My moto has been "Your only one Dr. visit from Bad News, so if you feel good, go and do something." God gave you today!

I went to Mi. and met 30 riders, of a Camping group. I headed North, after, another retired teacher from, Ga. headed, West.
I reported my 15 day, 4945 miles, and puffed my chest. Ga. guy rode 7800 miles in 24 days, and stole my thunder! :lmao: :lmao:
