Re: July road trip, a planning thread
What days will you be in NY? I had plans on heading that way some time when I had the money. So if I can swing it I can head that way after seeing Duluth. Hopefully I'll have enough money left that maybe I can be on the road when my SS money comes in for July. And that is why I want/need a hard sided trailer. To be able to take off and stay gone as long as I want. But then I'm about as predictable as the weather in Okla.

wow, that isn't giving you much time in NY. But then NY isn't worth spending a lot of time on. Now the people up there are worth spending time with. I think it is best if I just wait till I have the money to visit Fl and maybe even see a gator or maybe a hurricane. Ok, just kidding about the gator. I'll let you know when I head that way. It may be sooner than I think with the skeeters we have right now. I was out trying to track down the reason I don't have all the LED lights on the trailer and I was swatting skeeters more than I was checking the wires.

I can take off Friday the 10th...I can try to get a head start and leave Thursday evening...meet somewhere Friday midday or morning somewhere along the 81 corridor....as I would be coming south on 81...

I will...he's pretty close...
EDIT: If we're talking about a couple more folks joining us...we might want to plan this to happen on 11 July..instead of a weekday...folks have jobs and all that...

He lives on the way to I81 from me...I've been meaning to go ride with him as he is only like 45 minutes away..but the darn weather this time of year....afternoon boomers all the time.98VS1400 wrote:OK, good point. What I can do then is plan to leave GA on the 10th and sleep over in VA that night. Johnnycando is also in VA I believe, so maybe I can hit him up as well...MadCow wrote:I will...he's pretty close...98VS1400 wrote:DO IT.MadCow wrote:Yup...we could even get WildWolf to meet us there....

I think o so ducky lives just off 81 in the Roanoke area. Mike, I'm thinkin' of heading west on Friday, staying overnight somewhere off 81 and heading to the rendezvous(good word), Saturday morning. Might even take in a little of the Skyline Drive if there's time on Friday.

Re: July road trip, a planning thread
It runs from just outside Waynesboro VA, north to Front Royal VA. You can gain access to it off rt. 250 on the southern end. If I remember right, it'll take about 4 hours to get to Front Royal from there. Primarily because of the speed limit and the fact that you WILL stop at some of the overlooks. It's a park, so there's an entrance fee. You can also gain access off rt. 33 and again at rt. 211. Some folks who have spent more time on it than me may be able to provide more info.
