Suzuki LS650 now S40 Savage. Still air cooled and carbed. I had a 96 on one 300 mile trip averaged over 70 mpg when I start riding again I think i'll get another one.

We used to ride with a couple who's wife rode a S40 ...took a trip to St Francisville, La...via the ferry on the Mississippi river at New Roads...
My sweet wife was riding her Honda VLX 600....both bikes were getting some awesome mileage...The S40 avg'd 76 mpg and the 600 avg'd 68 mpg....
All back roads..never got on the interstate because the 18 wheelers would blow the lighter bikes all over the roadway

Love big one cly four stroke bikes. Had two SR 500. Rode with a few 650 savage owners. One average size people rode one double with us on day trips.I9t had no trouble keeping up at 65mph. A good friend got one for his wife new as a gift. She did not want to ride her own so me and him put 3,000 on it in a year and found a sale for him to another good friend who like me rides all year. He rode it to work a few years .Only thing I have found on some early ones a high oil leak starts around 40,000 but can be fixed and late ones do not get it. :putput:
