It's not right

Post by jeffcoslacker »

...to be rudely reminded how old you are. I mean when it's deliberate, yeah...it's all in fun. But when it just smacks you in the face out the blue, for totally innocent reasons, it sets you back a bit. Or does me anyway.

I took a stock transfer to another warehouse in the area. Hadn't been there before. When I got there a guy was helping me unload my truck and outta the blue he asked me if my name was Larry and I said yeah...he says I'm Eric! And I'm like :uhh: ...I can't pull anyone named Eric out of recent memory...

"From the house on Jackson. You rented the back part of our house..."

:ahha: ERIC! Yeah I remember you...except you were a 13 year-old kid that followed me around and handed me tools and beers while I worked on my car and tried to explain what I was doing. AND YOU PICKED UP ON IT WELL. I put your dad's Honda CL350 back on the road after it sat for too many years. You rode on the back of it while we terrorized the neighborhood proving that it worked right. Yeah, Eric! Cool kid. Everything wrong with you, you probably learned from me. :lmao:

Except now you're 41 years old. ...wow...all that stuff was almost 30 years ago.... :donno:

I'm old. :bang:

I was supposed to die doing something gloriously stupid in a car before I was 30.

And I didn't even get that right :lmao:

Good news here!!! The great thing about old age is it don’t last very long!!! Cheer up!

Oh ya Army ,Voyage to the Bottom of the sea,Time tunnel,Batman and Robin

I remember when all I needed was a Stick and a can to have fun. A time when all the boys had toy guns and all the girls had cooties. The best bikes was the Schwinn Stingray.
I remember a time when a wave to a cop would get a wave in return and sometimes he would hit the siren and light up the roof

I could just keep going on and on

I had one of those. Used to set up ramps and jump garbage cans. No safety gear back then... :lolfall:

It really hit me that I was getting old when the cute little gal behind the counter at Arby's gave me the senior discount without me asking for it.

REALLY depressing...
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

On the bright side, I bought a can of spray paint at Walmart and the checkout lady asked for my ID.

Or when the cute gal at wally world, when discovering a six pack of Henry's Hard Soda in my basket, asked me if I was over 40 [emoji106]
She did it with a big ole smile that clearly disarmed this ole coot.....
