I could see her returning it if it was one of those live tree purchases that you plant in your backyard after the holidays. That was a "thing" for a while, maybe it still is. ;IDunno:

Costco will take anything back, they are really good about it. This spring I was in Costco and a guy came in with a lawn mower with gas in it. They looked it up and he had purchased it 8 years ago. He claimed it wasn't working and they refunded his money and took it back. He didn't even have the original receipt. I just stood there with my mouth open, couldn't believe what I had just seen.
