Today's trip to get my SS money

Post by BlacktopTravelr »

I got up early today to make that hour long trip to the bank to get my money and to check on why my bike insurance supposedly was cancelled. Well, I didn't leave as early as I wanted but I did get on the road by a little after 10:00 am. So after stopping for gas and riding a nice 55 to 60 mph I get to the bank a lot later than I want. My withdraw slip said it was after 12:45. Wow, that ride took a whole lot longer than I thought. But then I was riding a bike with an expired tag and no insurance. There was also the short stop I made at Walmart for a potty break before going to the bank. I made my huge ($600) :lolfall: withdraw with the help from a pretty little cashier I'd like to get to know better. She normally works the drive thru window. Anyway, after eyeballing her for about 15 minutes I end up at my insurance agents office and find out he has a new lady working for him. She's cute too :naughty: and has a pretty and young (mid-teens) daughter at the office with her. I go thru the process of telling her why I am there and she looks up my file and it says I paid my insurance in full, but it also shows where it has been cancelled. And on further looking it seems what has been cancelled was the van insurance which was restarted and paid last month.

So she has to call (the line is busy) the man that handled the insurance payments who happens to be working at his office in the town (wewoka) where I am going to get my motorcycle tag. He finally calls and she explains the problem we are having and he said he would take care of it. It seems that he made last months van payment to the motorcycle account. So why was the motorcycle insurance cancelled? After I get an assurance that I have motorcycle insurance I go to "Little Chicago" to get my tag brought up to date. The lady looks at my receipt from last year and says that will be $30.50. So I give her the money and then she asked me who I had insurance with. I had totally forgot to give her my verification card. :lolfall: Anyway I get that taken care of and get the sticker on and I am "Legal" again.

On the way out home I get to the intersection with the blinking light where I turn right. There is a truck with an oversize load (extremely long conveyor) trying to made a right turn. Since he can't make it he has to back his load up so he can swing wider. The guy (old man) in the escort car isn't doing a whole lot. So I stop to help direct traffic around this truck and load while the driver can move over to make that turn. While he is backing up the load I notice why he can't make the turn without moving over. The load has something under the belly of the huge conveyor that is only about 6 inches off the ground. As a matter of fact it drags when he backs the load over the island between the two lands. Anyway, he makes the turn I wave good bye and head for home.

It is hot and I need something to drink since I have been drinking Lemon-lime pop (7-UP ?) instead of my normal Dr. Pepper I decide to stop at a Dollar Store in the next little town. I hate this little town as it is the one I got my speeding ticket in that cost me $242. Anyway after making sure I am doing the speed limit I get to the store and find out they are closed till tomorrow for remodeling. :bonk: Now why didn't I notice that when I came thru going the other way? Oh, that's right I was riding a bike with no insurance, supposedly, and an expired tag. I didn't have time to look at the store I was looking for that cop I knew was waiting for me. :lmao: The next little town is 12 miles away so I decide to go downtown to the local quick-trip and get me my lemon-lime pop. When I get there I find out they want 20 cents more for the pop I want so I get my old favorite the Dr. Pepper. The rest is like they say "history" a non-eventful ride at 55 mph. Lots more happened when I got home but that can wait for another day or thread. :lolfall: [space] :soda:

Here it is Sept. 22nd which is my ex-wifes birthday. I got her what she always want... I left her alone. :lolfall: Now on a brighter side of life I went to Eufaula and ended up ordering a small storage building to put my junk in. It is only a small building 8X12 with 2 lofts and a front porch. One loft over the front porch and one over the living storage area inside. it comes with a metal roof and should be big enough (just big enough) to hang my hammock in if it gets too cold out side. This will cosy me $119.57 a month for 3 years. Let's hope my SS last that long. if I can get back the money SS takes out for Part B then I will have it covered. It should be here in 10 to 12 days with setup being free. A little insulation and some paneling and I will have a place to stay thru the winter if I don't get the motor home down here in time.

I have also decided to try again an get my Wrangler retirement started. The last time was a mess of :bs: from them wanting things they already have on file at Greensboro, NC. I wasted two weeks just trying to collect all the BS things they wanted when the HR person at Wrangler in Seminole told me the main office in Greensboro has all this on file there. :hellfire:
