Re: GREEN ENERGY
The only FACTUAL REALITY here is that you have an obsessive vendetta against solar panels and wind turbines. You will puke up all sorts of cut n paste to try and validate your dumbass crusade. You bring it up in EVERY thread about renewables.
Go for a fucking ride or something, will ya? You're boring the shit out of anyone who's left here.

He will say ANYTHING to evade facing THE FACTUAL REALITY of THE FACTS he doesn't..."like".
Posting Facts that demonstrate the FACTS that are so often ignored/little reported is just part of any discussion.,...attacking them and me will not make them .."go away".

Re: GREEN ENERGY
There are over 20 times the amount of birds killed by power lines than windmills.
Go and be outraged at that.

Re: GREEN ENERGY
I am.
However, you persist in ignoring that ALL these Bird Turbine Deaths are;
1. NEEDLESS IN ADDITION to these Power Line deaths.
2. These horrid contraptions KEEP ADDING TO THE POWER LINES THAT ARE KILLING BIRDS.
3. And thus,.. totally negates what we are told about theses horrid contraptions being 'green energy'.
They ARE NOT 'environmentally friendly',...they ARE NOT 'ecological'......they ARE NOT 'saving the planet' when they are KILLING SO MANY.

Re: GREEN ENERGY
On a January day in 2009, countless New Yorkers glancing out their windows saw an alarming sight: a low-flying passenger plane over the Hudson River. It was not terrorism, as some may have feared. Instead, it was an aircraft in deep distress. The Airbus A320 had catastrophically hit a flock of geese shortly after takeoff and was about to attempt a landing in the river that would soon become known as the Miracle on the Hudson.Herb wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 11:42 pmI spent the better part of 30 years working on jet aircraft. Most of those years my squadron was on the east coast where there are a LOT of seagulls.
The 20 jet squadron flew over 500 hours a month and the average flight was right at an hour. That means we had 500 takeoffs and 500 landings every month (for the ignorant, takeoff and landing is when the majority of the bird strikes happen). We had less than 3 bird strikes a year.
Aircraft bird strikes are exceedingly rare happenings but you can't go through a 20 windmill wind farm and NOT see 3-5 dead birds every day. The height of the windmills is right in the flight altitude of the majority of the birds, especially birds of prey.
apples and oranges comparison.
Bird strikes are not rare
Metropolitan Airports take great strides to clear the airfields of birds To include the use of explosives
Airports attract birds fire a number of reasons
Aircraft engine engineers design their engines to absorb the damage if birds being sucked into the engines and Are tested by shooting frozen BIRDS in the engines air intake.
Other then being dead What do these 2 birds have in common
Ill give you a hint
They where both killed by the same thing

Re: GREEN ENERGY
I think you need to check your facts. Bird strikes by aircraft ARE extremly rare. Thousands of aircraft takeoff and landings take place every year and damn few bird strikes take place.
According to the “Annual traffic” table, LaGuardia Airport had 369,393 aircraft operations in 2023, which includes both takeoffs and landings. That comes out to an average of over 1,000 take offs and landings EVERY day of the year. The latest data is from 2014 and there were 175 bird strikes reported at LaGuardia Airport in 2014. 175 out of over 350,000 takeoffs and landings. Keep in mind that the vast majority of bird strikes take pleace during take off or landing, almost NONE happen above 2,000 ft AGL.
All of the windmill strikes happen in the altitude that birds fly because that is the circumference of the blades.
And no, those 2 birds have nothing in common EXCEPT being dead.

Re: GREEN ENERGY
Your incorrect
Birds strikes happen daily
And Look again
You may have to look real close
They do have one thing in common
