Cleaning my trike after a 250 mile ride.. and as luck would have it, it started raining on my butt 3 miles from home..
3rd time this year alone. We received an inch of the wet stuff last evening with the passing of the latest cool front approaching from the west, luckily this time no really bad weather and neither lightning and thunder.
It's a cool 55 degrees and completely overcast this am.
Life is good in Cajun Land  :rag:

I didn't spend a lot of time with you folks in cajun land, but every time I spent away from Ft. Polk north fork was a pleasure. Tiger Land was no picnic, basically some learning, training and acclimating to hot humid weather. I met a lot of great folks, ate my first mud bugs and my first REAL cajun food. I got a pass to go with a buddy to his home and had my best food ever. Jumbalaya with bodin sausage. I really chowed down on that. One thing I never knew, lots of families have stills and make shine. Lots of fun and joking around, last I remember was falling off the tree stump I was sitting on, then woke up in some relative of his car taking me back to the base.

I also have some not so fond memories of North Fort Polk during the early 60's at Tiger Land.. :rag:
And yep us Cajuns are known to make our own brew and liquor and some still do, none of it is for sale mind you, just all for home consumption at Bouray games and the occasional Fais Do Do.
I remember my Dad making some homemade brew in the shed in the back of our home, never did get a taste for the darn stuff, of course I was too young to be drinking anyway but I do remember getting the first taste of each batch..Pop would just laugh at me when I'd make the bitter face.
Life is definitely Great in Cajun Land!
