Building another jet boat

As some of you guys know, I built and raced jet boats for years in my late 20’s- mid 30’s until I got into law enforcement. That was the end of my weekends off for several years so I sold my boat.
25 years later we were out wakeboarding with the grandkids and my 10 yo grandson Tanner watched a (rare these days) jet boat pass by. He then said “Papa don’t you know how to build those?” I said yes and he said “Why don’t we build one?” And so it began.
We built this one last spring.
It’s been a ton of fun. I really missed the thrill and speed of a jet boat.
A few months ago I ran across my dream jet boat, a 19’ Eliminator Daytona for sale. It was a bare hull and needed a lot of work but had a ton of parts with it. I thought about it for a while but decided I had a nice boat and would pass on it as we are looking to get my wife retired in Oct. I had the money but thought I shouldn’t spend it.
My son asked if I was going to buy the boat but I told him I better not spend the money right now. A few days later he and the boys came in the house, the boys looked like they were going to bust. They asked me to go out and help them start their dirt bikes. They haven’t needed help with that in over a year so I went out to see what they were up to. Sitting in the driveway was the 19’ Eliminator! My son bought it for me! Crazy kid!
