Solstice

Post by RoadKing »

When I was a kid Summer Solstice meant zilch. But now? Scares me. Means shorter daylight. Here it comes again… winter.
“Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more.
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury…
Signifying nothing”

Signifying monkey, stay up in your tree. Always lying and signifying, but you better not monkey with me.

I wouldn't think dreading the coming of winter on the first day of summer is a good start to enjoying the summer. Shorter daylight starting from the longest daylight hours of the year, so there's a few good months of pretty long daylight hours. A bit shorter is good as I'm not crazy about waiting til 9pm to start the campfire while camping.

As I say, as a youngster this was never a personal issue. It is now.

I agree with that.

Not only that but we haven't had much of a spring. we have had cold weather and the garden doesn't want to grow. Hoping for some good warm days to get some kind of crop before the freezing starts.
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

Unusually Hot temps have almost totally destroyed my garden.. only the okra is going to survive.
And maybe a few ears of corn and a few banana peppers.

We usually don't have hot weather like this until late July until September.

My house cat loves it, sleeps in the hot sun outdoors and if given the chance stays out all night long roaming the neighborhood :ShitGrinandThumb:

No, Tom, I mentioned something personal about myself. The coming of long hours of darkness and cold frightens me. Right or wrong, I shouldn’t have. You corrected me. I apologize, ok?

This chit chat channel is nothing but non stop ridiculous arguing and bickering and very little of it is me. I don’t know why you single me out. I don’t understand your unending enmity towards me. Life is too short and I’m just not worth all your wasted negative emotions.

Listening to album Rear View Town by Aldean. Makes me feel kinda good. Good singing good songs good guitars. I think.

Dang song is addicting

This song has special meaning to me, brings back a time in my life when I was desperately coping with a problem that still haunts me till today.
