I almost posted this in the Humor thread, it is hilarious. Watch the young woman in the green sweater and white pants close to the end, she thinks it is funny too.

I hope these people win their lawsuit.

When this hunk of junk was first being brought into the USMC inventory I was offered the chance to join the first squadron. I had been around it a little during the testing and I really didn't trust the aircraft.

The Marines lost an AV-8A when the A/C was in a hover and the automatic limiting system sensed an engine overheat condition and cut the fuel flow back by 10%.

The design of this thing is even worse.

https://www.military.com/daily-news/202 ... n=20240528

...The suit claims that the aircraft's complex system of clutches and linkages is "flawed, unsafe, and does not meet the government's specifications for safety and/or reliability," and it cites the Osprey's engine-controlling computer as part of the issue as well.

The computer, called Full Authority Digital Engine Controls, or FADEC, has the ability to shut down the engines of an aircraft without input from the pilots. The complaint says that, in the case of Swift 11, it turned off the aircraft's right engine as the pilots were struggling to figure out what was happening and keep the Osprey in the sky.

The complaint argues that Bell, Boeing and Rolls-Royce failed to properly and adequately design, integrate and manufacture the "aircraft, engines, FADECs, transmission, clutch, ICDS, and other systems and their component parts" to work together and operate as intended....

Which was superior, the P51 Mustang or the P47 Thunderbolt?
The P51 Mustang and the P47 Thunderbolt were two of the most famous and successful fighter planes of World War II. They were both designed and manufactured by American companies, North American Aviation and Republic Aviation respectively, and they both served with the US Army Air Forces and other Allied air forces in various theaters of war. They both had a single-seat cockpit, a single-engine propeller, and six 0.50 caliber machine guns as their main armament.
They had many differences in terms of design, function, and capability. The P51 Mustang was a long-range escort fighter that could accompany heavy bombers deep into enemy territory and protect them from enemy fighters. The P51 Mustang had a sleek and aerodynamic shape that gave it high speed and maneuverability. It also had a powerful Packard V-1650 Merlin engine that enabled it to fly at altitudes of over 40,000 feet and reach speeds of over 700 km/h. The P51 Mustang had a range of over 2,600 km with external fuel tanks, making it one of the longest-range fighters of the war.
The P47 Thunderbolt was a fighter-bomber that could perform both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The P47 Thunderbolt had a bulky and robust shape that gave it durability and firepower. It also had a massive Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine that gave it tremendous thrust and climb rate. The P47 Thunderbolt could carry up to 1,300 kg of bombs or rockets under its wings, making it one of the heaviest-armed fighters of the war. The P47 Thunderbolt had a range of over 1,600 km with external fuel tanks, making it suitable for medium-range operations.
Both planes had their advantages and disadvantages , and both planes complemented each other in different roles and missions. So the superiority of a plane depends on how well it fulfills its purpose and how well it adapts to the changing circumstances of war.

My vote goes for the P-51 Mustang...

6 planets will soon align in the sky. This is how to see them.
The last time a planetary alignment graced the skies was during the April 8 total solar eclipse.
By Ariana Garcia, Trending News ReporterMay 28, 2024

On June 3rd, six planets will align in the sky in a rare visual phenomenon visible from Earth.

Image

A rare visual phenomenon involving six planets in our solar system will soon be visible from Earth. In the early morning hours on June 3, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will gather closely on one side of the Sun at the same time in a large planetary alignment, known colloquially as a "planet parade." While Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn might be spotted with the naked eye, you'll need a telescope or high-powered binoculars to see Neptune and Uranus, according to Star Walk.

The first to appear in the sky will be Saturn in a yellowish tinge from late night on in the constellation Aquarius. Neptune will be located in the nearby constellation Pisces. Shortly after, Mars will rise, distinguishable by its reddish tint. It will also be located in the constellation Pisces. At dawn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mercury will appear on the eastern horizon in the constellation Taurus. While Jupiter will appear the brightest in the sky out of all the planets after the moon, Mercury will be the most difficult to spot due to its close location to the Sun.
An infographic titled ''Planetary Alignment 2024." This rare event of alignment will be visible to the naked eye in the dark sky before sunrise in the northern hemisphere.

The planetary alignment will be visible nearly everywhere in the morning hours, though the ideal time to view it may vary depending on your location. To find the ideal time, StarWalk recommends downloading the free stargazing app Sky Tonight. Using the app, you can also easily identify the planets and other celestial objects by pointing your device toward the sky. Make sure to find a place with a dark sky without light pollution or obstacles like trees or tall buildings to get a clear view of the horizon.

The last time all planets aligned was on April 8 during the total solar eclipse in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Another large morning planetary alignment with Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn will occur on Aug. 28. After that, another large morning alignment with Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn will take place on Jan. 18, 2025.
