0000 Steel wool will take the clear coat off fairly quickly too without having to use a stripper. That stuff can be quite dangerous if you do not have the proper PPE (personal protective equipment), chemical resistant gloves, and goggles at a minimum.

Good tips  After years on a machine floor had hands in too much degreaser, heated and cold types and did not wear rubber gloves enough .Now have to watch more than most and even wear latex for oil changes. When I chopped a 66FLH in the eary 70s did the big left side cover and cam cover on right.Came out really good. For covers that go on come off easy you can screw them to a big board and get to it better from what angle you want.Back then Sears had a white stick in a white/gray box .Some kind of Rudge in the name.Would put it on my buffing wheel and it did so good. These are good winter jobs for us that have a winter.

You can still get the white polishing compound at other places. I have 3 sticks green white and brown. Each one has less aggressive grit.

I searched the Walmart site for airplane stripper, and the closest I came was a one gallon jug of Rust-oleum "Aircraft Remover". Is this what you are referring to?The best"stripper" I've ever used has been "airplane" brand you can get it at Walmart

Yes James the Aircraft remover is what he is talking about, works very well.
Make sure to cover the sight glass on the masters, if not you will get them looking dull and hard to see through. I use that tacky craft glue and a dime, peels right off after you are done.
