As a former small engine mechanic who has made a
LOT of money making engines run again after five
or six months storage, here's my take:

Gas stabilizer. Run engine long enough to fill
carbs or fuel injection. Carb engines, run carbs
dry to relieve pressure on float needle seating surface.
Note I don't drain my Carbs & no problems yet

I store my Heritage softail for the winter...I stop at a gas station and put stabilizer in and fill tank..2 miles away from the dealer ...then they store in in a building kept at 65 degrees...when I pick it up ..washed and new oil ready to rock and roll .

Good tips [emoji106] and so much more needed than when we had gas with more gas in it.The old bikes I have bought usually need the carbs cleaned if only a few months with no running or carb drain.Have got them five years setting and not as much clean up as only a year with the corn gas and not ran.Just made some baffles for my latest old bike the 2001 1600 RoadStar. The tall risers and stock bars do not feel as bad now after a few rides. With the corbin seat and feet out in front chopper style nice on the four lane.Still like my stock 04 1700 better......Really about anything with wheels is ok.

I use the stabilizer in the Suzuki , the lawnmower, the weed eater and most everything I own and have good results. They all start a lot better in the spring.

I use a 2 stroke oil with a fuel stabilizer in it in all my small engines, never have an issue. I use MMO in the bikes all the time and never have them put up for more than a couple of weeks at a time. No issues with the engines or carbs.

When I used to deploy overseas, for 6-8 months at a time, I used to have major issues when I came home. I tried using MMO in the bike and never again had an issue when I came home.
