Rear brake slave cylinder

Post by alexhulett71 »

Does anybody have any tips on rebuilding them? I was in a wreck on the bike, and busted up the peg frame piece, and it busted the og slave cylinder. Well i found a parts bike, and was able to get the whole set-up, including the slave cylinder, pegs, and hoses. Well got it all installed, then tried to bleed the rear brakes out with a vacuum bleeder and tried for a while with no success. So im thinking about just rebuidling the new used slave cylinder, rear brake caliper (seems to have been sticking beforehand anyways), and new hoses soni know is good. Rebuilding at $110 sounds alot better than paying $400 for new complete units before caliper.

And also, if yall have any tips for bleeding the complete system, that'd be great too lol... The parts bike i found literally looked like it sat in a field by a pond/lake for some time. Main reason im thinking a rebuild is in order.
