86 VS700 Speedo Ratio
Good day! Been scouring around and for the life of me, I can't find what the speedo ratio is for an 86 Intruder 700. Unfortunately, don't have a lift at the moment to unhook the cable & spin the front tire. Really would like to replace stock speedo with a smaller Drag Speciality. The only thing I could remotely find is that j&p cycles say a 2:1 ratio would fit the bike but I am a bit hesitant to trust this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Acewell makes programmable speedometers for motorcycles. Many models.
You place a sensor on the front wheel and calibrate the unit to the front tire circumference.

Tire circumference!? What!? When I installed the Acewell, I started by placing my front wheel against the wall, pushed the bike back exactly 10 paces, then counted the seconds it took me to walk back to the wall. So that's the number I put in as the multplier. Are you telling me it's off a bit? Are you saying my VS750 doesn't top out at 274 mph?navigator wrote: Acewell makes programmable speedometers for motorcycles. Many models.
