Vs700 Bolt

Post by TripleKing »

I was attaching an aftermarket sissy bar to my 86 vs 700. The brackets all lined up and I have bolts that fit the passenger rails. The exception is on the left side the second one in from the rear. No bolt they have will fit that hole, not even the one that fits directly across from it on the right side. Might anyone know what size bolt fits in that hole on the grab rail. From what I can see there's nothing stuck in the grab rail it is just that I have nothing that fits in there and it seems that it might be a bit smaller than the one on the right side. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to #11?
#4 is a M8, #11 is likely a M6.

Don't know if it will help but the service manual can be found here. The 700 shares a manual with the 800.

If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

Yes. In the position of #11 on the diagram, but entering from under the fender. I was thinking M6, but was not sure. I don't have an extra M6 lying around I guess I will acquire a few.

Thx

Try using a bolt from the front of your seat, that should be M6.
