96 INTRUDER 1400

Post by REEPER »

Hello all, from SE Kansas. Frist time Intruder 1400 owner. Mainly road dirt bikes and occasionally sport bikes but been told I should get a cruiser. Since I've been a mechanic for 30yrs, so a buddy had a deal on a bike that wasn't running because it sat a couple yrs. I figured I could get it going, more things going on with it than expected lol (Happens every time) Hoping I might get some good info here, thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum, Reeper. These bikes are rock solid once ya get them running. Enjoy it, it's a fun bike and that 1400 has a little zip to it.
There will be a time where you will no longer be able to use, "But...I didn't know!", as an excuse. And if you're exiled from society, well, you were warned.

Thanks, and yes it will be once I get all the kinks worked out. Just a lot different than other bikes I've rode. I had a low clutch after I got the engine to run right, mostly. I don't know if it's the bad throttle cable and being alittle out of synch or jet size. I can't get the idle set so it dies all the time. Got this bike to ride the hr to work to save on gas but looks like I'm goin to take everything apart and fix it all lol Never fails, sometimes life sucks
