I just picked up a wrecked 2000 sv800 to repair. It has bent forks and busted front hub, as well as a few other minor damages. I've already got it running from a 2-3 year layup. I have a decade of wrenching and riding experience, but I've got to say, these are the absolute worst bikes to work on!! I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I get this thing back on the road.

Welcome and post pics of the rebuild if you can.Lots thinks bikes are so much better than cars to work on but space at getting to stuff can be hard on some. A old Harley or BMW air head are better ones. The V-fours IMO are some of the worse with lots stuffed in between the V. :putput:

Welcome.
Remove the neck covers and check for cracked paint around the neck before you throw a lot of money at it.
The guys on the tech pages can walk you through your questions.
