Welcome!...New Member! :space: Glad you are here!

I'll wager the issue is with your Hydraulic System.

Have you checked the fluid level lately? :space: Is the Fluid dark? :space: If it is,...I suggest you Bleed-in all new Fluid.
Not necessarily draining it first..... let the New Clean Fluid "flush" the system clean.

Did you do any recent work on the bike?
How old is the clutch fluid?
Check the slave cylinder to make sure it is clean and has a good seal.
Check the master cylinder for leaks. If it is original you can order a rebuild kit for about $30 on amazon. The seals in the MC tend to go bad over time and allow air into the system.

Is your kickstand up?
It will shut off in gear with the kickstand down.

Good point. Could a bad kick stand switch cause that also?

I had the stand get tight on the pivot with mine once - went over a speed bump a little fast and the stand swung down a bit and stayed there. Bike cut out and I cruised to a stop. Took a little while to work that out but check your stand is going up fully and the switch is engaging / working.

So the other question is how does it stall? If it surges foward a little then stalls I'd say it is the clutch or clutch fluid. If it just cuts off it's the kick stand switch.

He's been back here on the 26th. Odd that he hasn't responded to the several suggestions made on the 25th.
