Just got an intruder, my first street motorcycle
I just got a dirt bike last month and have had so much fun with it that I decided I needed a street legal bike so have something legal to ride around my house.
I scoured Facebook marketplace for days and final came across a 94 Intruder 800 that just needed carb work. I bought it the weekend before last and rebuilt the carbs and had it running the next day. Took me a little more time to get them synced but last weekend it was running great!
A previous owner dropped it and dented the tank and bent the handle bars. Someone put aftermarket handlebars on it that I'm not crazy about, I will try to find the stock bars but it's not a big deal.
After all the bikes in this class I looked at, I'm really happy I got the Intruder. It is a great size and weight for me to learn on, with plenty of power for what I desire.
I'm signed up for the MSF class for next month.

Nice looking scooter
How much did it set you back
I agree The Intruder is the best looking Japanese bike in its class
I have a set of bars that I would be happy to give you for the cost of shipping
If you like or not
I have been trying to give these things away for a while now

Congrats.
Since you are a new rider, I whole heartedly suggest you take the MSF course. Lots of techniques to learn.

Thank you. It was $1000, which I was happy with in the current market. I forgot to mention it only has 9000 miles. Pretty low for a 27 year old bike.FallenAngel wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 8:12 pmNice looking scooter

I received your E Mail and I will box them up and get them to you as soon as I can.Overkill777 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 6:49 amThank you. It was $1000, which I was happy with in the current market. I forgot to mention it only has 9000 miles. Pretty low for a 27 year old bike.

The bars come with both switches and wiring. The mirror mounts have been removed
I also have a couple side tins I will send along that you may be able to use
I just noticed your going to take the MSC I believe this is a wise move
I would recommend watching Jerry Palladino's "Ride Like a Pro"

I've been watching his videos as well as Dan Dan the Fireman and a bunch of crash videos.FallenAngel wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 1:17 amI received your E Mail and I will box them up and get them to you as soon as I can.Overkill777 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 6:49 amThank you. My wife was like "why would you want to watch that?" (talking about the crashes). I said I'm learning what not to do.

Re: Just got an intruder, my first street motorcycle
I used to watch DanDan but it seems he just got to commercial and he wants way to much for his first aid kits (almost 200 bucks)
I have twice the supply's and 1 forth the price . Mine says "Ouch Pouch" and has aspirin
He does have some good information and Ill check his channel from time to time
Did you see the video of the rider that went under a set of semi truck tires yet?

I haven't seen that one. I'll check it out.
I just got my permit today! It was a pain in the ass just like everything to do with the government. At least I won't be riding dirty anymore.

Its a tough one to watch semi turned in front of the rider
There was little to noting he could do short of anticipating the trucks left turn and aiming for the parking lot

Re: Just got an intruder, my first street motorcycle
Passed the basic rider course today! It wasn't easy either. 5 people out of 12 in the class failed. I was exhausted.
Perfect score on the evaluation though.
I've put over 1,000 miles on the intruder. Loving it.
