Bobber from Chicago!

Post by EddieMeister »

Hey everyone new here. IA brought me here since I guess the other board is MIA. Anyway I finished my bobber build this past spring. Here's a list of all the mods:

-white walls
-semi sintered front and rear pads
-2" front fork lowering springs
-9.5" rear lowering springs with dampening settings
-shorty exhaust pipes with mild baffles
-red exhaust wrap
-drag handle bars with risers
-chopped rear fender (removable in less than 3 mins)
-relocated ecu
-no mirrors no turn signals
-side mounted plate bracket and LED stop/plate/running light
-custom wrapped leather seat
-hidden push start
-eliminated kill switch
-independent throttle housing
-LED headlight bulb with cooling fan
-black semi flat plasti dipped frame

That's all I can think of from the top of my head I'm probably forgetting a few things.

Future plans for this winter are forward controls, I hate the posture when riding it. Im also going to look into mounting a seat on that rear fender for my girlfriend, I want it to be removable so I can keep that badass fenderless look whenever she's not riding with me. Possibly a Harley peanut tank and a set of custom drag pipes.

Welcome and nice work.Chopped a 66 shovel way back around 1970.Custom work on a few more and some drag bikes.Only thing not cool for me is no mirrors unless just to look at.Even if law does not stop you lots of stuff behind if you do plan to ride it.Post often

Thanks guys, I believe laws in Illinois ask for one mirror only, I have a bar end mirror laying around somewhere that I'll be putting on it. As for turn signals state doesn't require any.

Had more Suzuki fours than any thing. Drag or super bike bars.Turn signals, off, stock rabbit ears replaced with one left side bar bar end. Four in to one to replace heavy stock pipes.Heavy center stand they came with way back in late 70s off. They even had lots of thick steel brackets!Replaced these with aluminum ones made on my machine floor job on 3rd shift. The money sunk into bikes back then and drag strip cost!!Do have something to talk about in the rest home a few years from now!

thats awesome old time rider! I love hear these types of stories, my pops would tell me stories about his first bike and the adventures he would go on when he was young out in the country. This is my first bike so i can't say i have good stories or memories lol ( well last weekend was something else, weather was in the low 30s but it really felt below zero with the windchill , anyway I attended a Toys for Tots Motorcycle parade with several friends, it was all fun and giggles until it started snowing and i had to rush home ( no rear fender, didn't want to get my back soaked) home before it really came down hard. Man was that fun
