chili

Post by torgy48 »

Realize are many different and some purists have no beans in theirs. I call this medicinal chili. It will open your sinus'. 1 cup of pinto beans soaked, 1 pound approximately of burger, 2-14 ounce cans of crushed tomatoes, 1 onion, some garlic, some chili powder, and 3 peppers habanero if you want it hot otherwise less hot peppers like cayenne or to taste cayenne pepper. peace torgy,

Alright Torgy! [emoji106]

I don't know about, '3 peppers habanero' though. It sounds to be near deadly  [emoji2]

Try adding a couple of chunks of chocolate and a table spoon of brown malt vinegar.

Oh, and the same for beans. No beans, not real chili.

Agreed, but habaneros are powerful strong. I would try it the first time around with one of those in there before I tossed in three of those bad boys. I like zing, but don't like being zinged to the point you can't taste anything but the heat.

I know you're kidding with the ER thing, but if it ever did, it was poison to begin with. [emoji2]

Chili, a great all round meal.
Day #1 Fresh off the stove, pretty damn good.
Day #2 now this is getting better, the hard spices have had time to fester and infuse.
Day #3 Oh! wow, this is the best, beautifully matured, all the hard spices have given up their flavours and the infusion is perfect.
Day #4. It never lasts that long.

I think that holds true for most cooked meals like chili, sauces, soups and stews. They get better tasting after a day or two of aging.
