[emoji2] Ya know nav... I worked in Television Production (analogue) for about 17 years, and then specialised in Digital Video for another 18 years after that. I've done a shit ton of editing... but I tell you what... there's a bunch of extremely talented people out there. Some of this stuff blows me away. [emoji106]

The first one was excellent for sure.
The second one, was umm me...
The last one was taking me places for the editing job that had to be done to put that all together. Now I'm no expert about video or audio of anything by any means. But, there was once a time, several years ago, that I put together about a 4 minute video from cuts of camera footage and other videos that adding in the audio and effects and everything using nothing other than MS Movie Maker and it turned out rather funny. I posted it on YT, later removed it for reasons related to my work at the time, still...and eventually lost all the original files I had created in the efforts of doing the project. It was a sad day of the Hard Drive crash of 2010.

I did it because I wanted to see just how this was all done. How to do the effects, moving along a time line to fit it all together, all the editing that was required..It was crazy to see it all done in such a short time. But please remember, it took all of a good Saturday and some of Sunday, (late hours) to complete that video to the point of my satisfaction, upload to YT and the show it to my boss, for the length of just one song. Frankie goes to Hollywood.
I seemed to be pretty good at it during that period ( a whole two days over a weekend), but I've never again felt a passion to do it again, I don't know why.
It was a lot of work to do to get it done...A lot of riffling through video files to just the right touch I was looking for. Movie Maker makes it so simple to do though, it's just a great tool to you and yeah, I think if you really try hard, it's a good enough tool to actually produce a film worth paying for to go see. Oh and yes, it had an opening and credits at the end as well. YT complained that I may have infringed on copyright laws even, because of the music, but they let it stay there. I so wished I haven't deleted it now days.. Oh well, it is was it is...

[emoji2] Video editing can be VERY time consuming. It depends on how much effort you want to put in, and of course time constraints. I say this because the edit itself is never done. Every time you play your piece back, you see something else that could be tweaked a little more. Eventually you need to convince yourself that it's good enough to let others see it. Personally, I miss the old analogue days of pushing actual buttons, twisting actual knobs and timing with a stop watch. Digital editing offers so much more capability, but I miss the tactile controls of the old tape consoles and a/v switchers.

...and I wholeheartedly agree with you on that note...Every single time I played it back, there was something that needed attention. After you go through it enough times you start seeing less things, but still, they are still there...more to do, always more to do..and unless you really want to make it perfect, you have to, like you said, convince yourself that it's good enough, which is exactly what I did.

I truly wanted it to be perfect, but realized to do so, would likely make me crazier than I already am.

I like FallenAngel's efforts with his Hitler series involving the Intruder. Seems like he has a lot of fun doing them.
