Yes you are correct, I was wrong , dont let me confuse you.

Thing is 3 are to the clutch basket and 3 are to the back torque limiter. You might notice that there is a sloppy hub at the back that moves about. Thats the BTL.

I have never seen 3 definate positions of over heat before. Any one else?

Note that the innermost plate, #12, is different from the rest, #11, so make sure you reassemble it correctly, or the clutch won't work properly.

Fred, the machine in question is an 800 NOT a 1400. No BTL just 4 springs, plates and basket. The OEM springs were not of top quality and usually slip around the 30,000 miles mark.
