Oem saddlebags

Post by Miller6323 »

Does anyone here have the stock saddlebags that say intruder on them. I'm looking to get rid of mine and I'm wondering if I am going to need different bolts and spacers to go through the shock or not? Im gonna go back with a set of throw overs. Thanks.

The OEM bags utilize a long 'fixture' nut both front and rear, one on the shock and a smaller diameter on the rear of the pillon bar.
Then bolts go into fixture nuts to hold the bags.
You can replace them both with regular nuts, then the stock chrome covers over the holes.
The new recipient of the OEM bags will need those fixture nuts and outer bolts to properly fit the bags.

IIRC there are also black plastic spacers in the rear that you will not use, they can go with the other hardware. You just put a nut and washer back there.

So I will need new nuts to look right. The bags are in terrible shape so they will probably end up in the trash.

I'd be interested in the hardware if your going to trash the bags and depending on the bags I might be interested in them also.

I may have already promised the hardware to navigator but if you want the bags I'd be okay with that. There in pretty rough shape though.

Got it. Are you running OEM shocks or aftermarket (progressive)?
