Side license plate mount

Post by Miks »

Hi mates!

I want to put side license plate mount on my VS750. Those who already have it installed - where do you fix it? On the axle or shock bolt?

Might produce one myself or buy if good offer comes around.
Pictures or drawings welcome!

Thanks,

If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

Making your own isn't all that hard.

I made my own;

Found a drawing where it shows attachment so that it doesn't change position while riding. Probably will try to make one by myself.

I see they use the Axle Recess in the Final Drive Housing as a secondary mounting point. That should work,...provided the Main Mounting point using the Lower Shock Mounting Stud is really solid.

The Length/weight of their Plate Mounting Arm coupled with the weight of the Plate/Frame itself causes me concerns.

Also, it being stuck way far away from the Final Drive can be a "trip hazard" and cause you problems banging into your legs.

That's why I made my Mounting so far inwards ( actually over the Final Drive)

Just some Design thoughts for you to consider before Fabrication. :bow:

Here is mine. It's a ebay special with attached tail light mounted to the axle. I had to drill it out a little larger to fit the axle diameter. And I drilled new holes in the plate mount to raise the plate up higher on the mount.
