I sent the shop manual and wiring diagram to your gmail account.
If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

It's underneath the chrome cover between the cylinders.
You need to drain the coolant and remove the chrome pipe to get at it.
First, have your battery load tested, and sand the connections, make sure the connections are tight...both ends of each cable.

It's drive utilizes a sprag clutch, which may be hung up but should release after the engine starts.
Sit on the bike, side stand up, clutch pulled in, try to start it in 2nd gear.
If it spins slow, your battery is weak, or your connections are bad.

After trying the above and the motor won't turn, remove the left cover, find the starter solenoid, hold the cable from solenoid to starter, press the button and try to start it. if the cable gets hot the motor is seized. Remove and dismantle the starter motor, check the 4 magnets on the housing as one may have come unglued (it happened to me). A good clean with solvent and epoxy glue the magnet back in place. Give the brushes a look over, replace if worn. You may find that the motor has become full of nasty oil, the cover on the drive side has an oil seal, make a note of its orientation and replace it, it's a common seal and should be available from any outlet sealing in bearings.
