Anyone know what all is needed to be done to run a GS450 cast wheel up front on a vs800?
Both are 15mm axles and I can handle wheel spacing. It's the caliper / rotor that I have questions about.
GS450 wheel up front?

Re: GS450 wheel up front?
I doubt anyone here has done it - it would be a matter of seeing if the Intruder disc mounts up to the GS wheel and offsetting / spacing the wheel or disc accordingly.
Here's a neat site to search for discs by model and it provides their measurements: https://www.metalgear.com.au/

The VS800 rotor is a larger diameter, and the GS450 has a 1mm larger center hole.
I can't figure any word on the bolt hole spacing.

The GS disc has a smaller centre hole so the Intruder disc will fit over the GS hub.....but not perfectly of course....Savageman99 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 20, 2021 6:08 pmThe VS800 rotor is a larger diameter, and the GS450 has a 1mm larger center hole.

Next step is to measure the wheel / disc offset.
Do you have the GS wheel or is this all hypothetical?

Re: GS450 wheel up front?
I actually have the GS450 wheel, (actually the whole parts bike)
I do not yet have the VS800 parts bike.
Everything is going on my LS650 Savage bobber.

Re: GS450 wheel up front?
Sounds like an interesting frankenbike I'm currently upgrading a 2006 EX250 with parts off a crashed 2016 EX300B and it's kinda surprising what is bolting straight in (complete slipper clutch and rear shock are direct bolt in replacements )Savageman99 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 7:26 amI actually have the GS450 wheel, (actually the whole parts bike)

Anyway, both the GS and VS discs are 6 hole mounts so if the GS hub holes don't line up with the VS disc it would only be a matter of elongating the VS disc holes either in or out.
The other issue would be whether the GS hub is any wider than the VS hub and if it will fit inside the forks with the VS disc on it (I doubt it would be). And the disc offset might cause some issues (the VS has virtually no offset whilst the GS has about 10-15mm?).
Show us some pics when you get all the bits

I actually run a Gs300 front mag on my 700 bobber, but its a drum brake.
