Header pipe Blueing removal.

Post by keges335 »

Hello everyone ,Been busy finishing my 96 1400. But recently bought a set of almost
perfect Header pipes and chrome in excellent cond. But there is some blueing on them.
Does anyone know outside of rechromeing them how to remove the blueing . Got them
for $150.00

Any help appreciated .

Keith.

Great to see an actual motorcycle related post on this forum.

I've used a product similar to the one in the video, there are many. It will work to get the color out of your pipe, blue or gold, but you have to work it for a long time. A lot of elbow grease required for a lot of area. Also, unless you get your jetting figured out and get the temps down, it will come back.

Thks for the info. I just got my bike from having Carbs calibrated. And got a good deal
on these . So debating whether to install them or not. I ordered a product off of Ebay
called Blue job. So we'll see. And that is why I joined tbis forum for info like this.

Thks Keith.,

Any Harley shop sells BluJob.
Works well, follow the instructions.
