Rear tire size..narrower
I would like to know how much smaller could I go on the factory rear wheel? Say would a 150/90r15 work? I don't necessarily want to go shorter just skinnier as I like the look. Thanks for looking.

Re: Rear tire size..narrower
I ran the 150/90 x15's for many years, they were half the cost of the 170's and overall height is almost identical because of the difference between the 80 and 90. They also ran about as many miles as the 170.
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

Re: Rear tire size..narrower
I would not like to be going too narrow as it means that the bead would be expanded abnormally. Herb recommends 150, I would take his advice.
On my 800 the OEM is 140, difficult to locate over here and 150's are real expensive so I downsized to 130, the tire wall still inflates slightly past the rim and I have had no problems over 15,000 km.

Thank you for the replies. I'll take the advice and go with a 150.
