I have seen the drilled/vented rotors aftermarket, but not oem.

Re: How come I got drilled rotors/ discs
I had to purchase a replacement disc a few years ago. It was aftermarket and is drilled.
The only advantage I have found, on my 1400, is that it makes a great place for a disc lock.

I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

They make a great buzzing noise like a bee on gentle application. That alone would be a good reason for such a mod.
